If the prostate has been removed and the most recent tests show cancerous cells, then the cancer has spread beyond primary cancer site. 3rd time is not a charm in this case...Going by your username, are you a female??

IĆ¢€™ve seen PSAs in the thousands. It can often elevate long before mets show up on imaging. Not knowing what treatment you have had other than a prostatectomy, your age, stage and grade of your cancer you are going to have to ask your urologist. For now he will probably continue to monitor you.

I don't know I thought the level was a negative or positive I'll have to look that up myself. But on the other hand if the prostate gland was removed it's gone and the cancer left with it. But the unfortunate thing about cancer is it likes to spread to other areas of the body. Perhaps the cancerous gland had not been removed in time. At what stage was the cancer when it was diagnosed? And how long did you wait til you decided that the prostate had to go? You see all of these play a major role in the spreading of the cancer. But to say that the test still showed positve and the gland no longer exist does not really make sense. The cancer must have spread to some other organ or part of the body. I hate to hear that, I'm no doctor but I'd sure be asking my doctor a ton of questions. And demand the answers, don't just settle for the first thing that they tell you either. Get the answer that you need to survive.
