I am sorry to hear about your father's diagnosis. Prostate Cancer is a slow growing form of cancer, it can take several years for the cancer to grow within the body before any symptoms appear. That is why most men do not know they have Prostate Cancer until their Doctor orders tests to confirm a diagnosis. Once cancer is confirmed, if it is caught in the early stages it can be treated with a high likelihood of a cure. Only your father's Doctor can answer the question about how serious the cancer is and if it has spread. He might recommend diagnostic tests like an MRI, a CT Scan, or a Bone Scan to help in determining if the cancer has spread. All treatments for Prostate Cancer have side-effects; some take time to heal, other side-effects never heal. Also, there is a chance that the primary treatment doesn't work and additional treatment becomes necessary if the cancer comes back. The best thing you can do for your father right now is to be supportive, learn as much as you can about this disease, and try not to worry too much. Most men diagnosed with Prostate Cancer go on to live healthy normal lives for many years after diagnosis and treatment.

This sounds very unlikely. Prostate cancer is an old man's disease.
2 :
Well, the prostate usually gets inflamed if you have cancer. If it gets bigger talk to your family, or a physician.
3 :
I doubt if its prostrate, with that your forever running to the loo and never really clear all the fluid Your a tad young for that Since you have a odd swelling tell you parents and see a doctor
4 :
prostate cancer is usually detected through digital rectal exam, and is rarely detected through testicular exam. some signs and symptoms of prostate cancer/ benign prostatic hyperplasia: decrease in the force of the urine stream dribbling of urine difficulty in initiating urination Testicular exam, on the other hand, is used for determining testicular CA, as evidenced by lumps. Don't be alarmed. Monitor the size of the bump frequently...if it gets bigger or doesnt disappear, then i suggest you go see you doctor for a check-up. hope this was useful.
5 :
prostate gland is located between anus and testicles. if water is collected in/around ur right testicle, it may be hydrocele. don't worry. it can never be prostate inflammation. u may ask ur parents to take u to a general surgeon, who is the best person to solve ur problem. symptoms of prostate inflammation, frequency of urination, urination drop by drop and after emptying ur urinary sac, u shall feel once again to urinate. all the best to u, my dear youngman from www.saioam.com

How long does it take from the time a Doctor tells you that you have prostate cancer till you die

How long does it take from the time a Doctor tells you that you have prostate cancer till you die?

Can be years and it depends on the treatment:you could live to be 100 years old. Planets.
2 :
Prostate cancer is not a death sentence. People live long healthy after treatment in most cases.
3 :
It depends on how old you are when the diagnosis is made, and what stage the cancer is in. There are many treatment options available, depending on the stage, and your age when diagnosed. In many cases, a man with prostate cancer will not die from that. Instead he will die of something else, sometimes old age, as a matter of fact. The earlier the cancer is detected, the sooner treatment can begin and the cancer either removed or slowed down even more. In that case, you aren't likely to die from prostate cancer at all. Just the diagnosis doesn't mean a death sentence. To learn more about your specific situation, you just need to speak with the urologist treating you. However, prostate cancer does not equate death in any predetermined or even average amount of time.
4 :
It doesn't have to kill you at all. If they take out the prostate, you will lose feeling in your penis, you will lose your ability to have an erection, lose the ability to ejaculate, become sterile, and lose the ability to control urinating. Then you only WISH you were dead. New surgeries are attempting to preserve the nerves that run through the prostate and are sometimes successful

Who can tell me something about prostate cancer

who can tell me something about prostate cancer?
i have a friend who has something wrong with his prostate ,the doctor told him that he might have prostate cancer , he needs to check further .what are symptoms of prostate cancer ?

i can tell you this, it tastes gorgeous.
2 :
The only true symptoms of prostate cancer are and elevated PSA test. An enlarged prostate itself if not always cancer. That could be benign prostatic hypertrophy aka an enlarged prostate. My dad has prostate cancer plus I am a nurse so if you have more questions just ask.
3 :
The prostate is a gland that encircles a mans urethra like a doughnut. When it is enlarged- from either a tumor, or "benign prostate hypertrophy or BPH" (an enlarged prostate that is not cancerous) the most obvious symptom is difficulty completely emptying the bladder. He may get up through the night to pee, and might have trouble peeing even though he feels like he has to go. Without a further workup it is not possible to tell if it's cancer or BPH.

i think it depends on his condition he should ask his doctor or who ever..
2 :
I would recommend he freezes his sperm, just as a precaution. I am soooo sorry. Hope he gets well soon.
3 :
Having prostate cancer at 17 makes him some kind of record holder! The treatments for prostate cancer can cause impotency.
4 :
Having kids is not usually a major concern for men with prostate cancer as over 80% of men diagnosed with it are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75. Prostate cancer is extremely rare in men under 50 and so rare in younger men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35. Are you sure it is prostate cancer he has?
