If 1 in 6 men suffer from prostate cancer, why is the NFL supporting Breast cancer instead of prostate cancer

If 1 in 6 men suffer from prostate cancer, why is the NFL supporting Breast cancer instead of prostate cancer?
most girls hate the NFL as it is...I say let the WNBA and Oprah do breast cancer awareness and let the NFL and MLB do prostate cancer awareness

I hope you aren't losing sleep over this. It really doesn't matter what you say. The NFL won't care.
2 :
If they have been advertising it lately it might be because October is national breast cancer month. They might do both, I don't know, but it does seem like NFL would be things related to guys. Maybe they are trying to appeal to a larger audience.
3 :
Because the NFL is getting feminized. Pink shoes, sexual harassment, penalties for bumping a QB, ect.
4 :
the NFL are reaching out to the audience that doesn't watch them in order to get more ratings from women

It's all for publicity and good public relations. It's ridiculous and superficial but in reality it all comes back to the dollar.

I thnk it's because breast cancer involves boobies, and the whole sisterhood thing. It's a more 'attractive' cancer, and is easier to advertise. As opposed to 'Hey men over a certain age, come get a finger up your bum to check your prostate!' Very important, but not as attractive.

Its all in the media, i mean more people die due to over weight issues than any thing else but you do not see any one talking about that. NFL and all other organizations that support breast cancer do not do it because they care about it they just want to show the world that they are responsible. So the easiest way to get recognition is to follow the crowd. The media has created a hype and every organization wants to cash in on that hype.

Interesting point you make..However, I do not think a majority of males react as positively to "awareness" months (concerning ailments they could have) as females do. Prostate health is definitely something for all guys to keep up with but I really don't feel most guys need a whole month devoted to it Also where are you pulling this 1 in 6 number out of?

Who cares, everyone is "aware" of breast cancer any way.

I think its probably because the susan g komen breast cancer program is one of the biggest charities people hear about, and I don't know if you know this but men can get breast cancer. I agree that it should be prostate cancer because it is more gender appropriate. @JWeezy- thank you, another person who agrees about the new rule :)

Because men care about breasts. If the breasts are gone, it doesn't matter if they have a prostate or not. Something has to get them going first. Also, there is a much greater chance of getting people to work for breast cancer if advertised by the NFL.

Well Its all about caring for Women the players have Wives, Daughters, Mothers, Sisters, Girlfriends, Neighbors, who are all being Generous and Its not all about themselves the players Its about their Families and most of them are Women I'm proudly support Breast Caner Awareness Personally because I know some men get it too. You may not like it but the NFL is doing the right Thing about Prostate Cancer Awareness theirs month for that September. Every September Prostate Awareness Month Every October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that's a Fair and Balanced Answer.
