In 2008, an estimated 24,700 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 4,300 will die of it. After recent advances, it's not as high as it used to be.

I have two brothers that are being treated for Prostate Cancer,both were 62 when diagnosed. One is now 73 and the other is 66 yrs of age. It periodically comes back, but they always have something to give them to combate the disease,so it isn't necessarily a death sentence.

My father lived for seven years after being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer (meaning it had already spread). Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer on January 4th.
