Feel your testicles for lumps. This should be a regular routine, just to always be on the safe side.
2 :
@xdarkerx i think thats for tesical cancer
3 :
prostate cancer digital test is done by inserting a finger in your anus and feeling the prostate...not a self test testicular cancer ...feel for small lumps on the testicle ignoring the tangled tubules on the back of them....
4 :
Prostate cancer cannot be felt. First you need a PSA test, and if the urologist feels it's necessary due to high PSA levels, he'll do a biopsy of the prostate. I would suggest you have the PSA test just to set your mind at ease
5 :
testicle examination don't hurt in any way, it can be kind of nice, mind you don't get a stiffy. to examin the postate they do an internal, so dont freak out, its ok.
6 :
ask a friend to stick his finger up your a*s to feel for lumps.
7 :
Prostate cancer is tested anally by a doctor. You're probably thinking of testicular cancer, and to check for that you should feel your testes for lumps and irregularities. This site explains it: http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/testexam/testexam.html

Depending on your age (if under 35), nothing invasive will happen during a doctor's exam. Your testicles have nothing, well, extremely little, to do with your prostate. The only way to know if you have an enlarged prostate, which often isn't cancerous, is if you stop and start when you're urinating, wake up at night and go a small amount, unable to get completely empty, etc. The prostate, if enlarged, can interfere with urine flow. You can go to a doctor and tell him you would like a PSA - prostate specific antigen - blood test. It screens for an antigen (indicates your body is fighting prostate cancer) that prostate cancer releases into your blood. IF this is negative, then you don't have prostate cancer. Good Luck.
9 :
im asking the same question but ive heard of a non invasive way of testing i wrote it down as it was advertised on tv but cant seem to find it as i need to get a check myself but im not gonna let anyone stick there finger in my bum lol if iy shows up i,ll post it

Can a man get prostate cancer if he doesn't have enough sex

can a man get prostate cancer if he doesn't have enough sex?
I heard from someone that a man can get prostate cancer if he doesn't have enough sex. I didn't believe it at the time, but now I'm wondering if it's true.

i heard masturbation and ahving sex reduces chances of getting prostate cancer SLIGHTLY but who knows if thats even true...
2 :
There are all type of ideas out there. But I personal believe the proper diet and a regular exercise routine may help prevent this possibility from happening. My father had it and based on his research and info give by docs the above mentioned was highly recommended.
3 :
Regular ejaculations, by masturbation and/or sex, help to keep the prostate healthy and reduce chances of prostate cancer in later life. Retention of semen irritates the prostate, and long-term irritation leads to prostatitis and a greatly increased rate of prostatic cancer.
4 :
No that's not true. However if a man doesn't ejaculate very frequently then it does put him at a much higher risk of prostate cancer. However the man doesn't have to have sex to ejaculate, there are many other ways of getting there. The less often you ejaculate the more likely you are to have any prostate related problem. -Connor

Can multivitamins cause prostate cancer or ANY cancer at all

Can multivitamins cause prostate cancer or ANY cancer at all?
So ive read and heard on tv that taking multivitamins more than twicw a week can cause cancer????....i thought taking them was supposed to be good not bad??...Can someone clear this up for me please?

1 :
well yes taking to much multivitamins might cause something of the sort. but taking when directed is completely fine.
2 :
Takeing them is good i've been takeing them for decades. My Father died of prostrate cancer but he never took any vitamins
3 :
There is absolutely no evidence to show or indicate that multivitamins cause any type of cancer. In fact they more that likely will help to avoid it. A goog one to take for overall health and well being is Nature's Way Alive~! multivites. With all the chemicals, preservatives and pesticides in our food supply, food has little nutritional value any more. So supplementing major antioxidants and nutrienst is crucial as is a decent diet and lifestyle.
4 :
sure any thing that's made in a factory could. they are full of carcinogens
5 :
That depends on the type and quality of the supplements. Some supplements contain low grade ingredients which burden the body more than help it. Also if your body has heavy metals (and most people nowadays have) your system will not get all the nutrients it needs. Hence people take more and more supplements because they don't feel anything from taking there vitamins because the body is not coping with what's in it. Parasites also cause problems as they take all the nutrients before you get them. If you are for example already high in Iron and you take supplements with Iron it can cause problems. Most people take supplements without knowing if they actually need them or if they overburden their body and causing problems down the line, like cancer and other long term illnesses. The first step in any program before supplementation should be elimination of toxins and parasites. A clean body will be able to uptake and utilize supplements efficiently. Saving you money and headaches in the long run.
6 :
It's the source of the vitamins. The natural ones are different than the ones made in the lab. Plants are really complicated, and you can't just whip up the same thing in the lab. For example one study showed that people that ate carrots had lower levels of cancer (including lung). They gave people synthetic beta carotene and their rate of cancer didn't just go up, but Tripled for smokers (over the control group that wasn't taking it.) Another study showed that men who take synthetic vitamins are more likely to have prostate cancer. Synthetic vitamines do not necessarily work in the same way natural ones do. Like people take 'Vitamin E', but there are 8 different kinds, and they do different things. Most pills are just one kind.
7 :
no an over loaded sack causes prostrate cancer. a healthy sex life and never leaving it full to long is best protection. prostrate cancer is natures way of saying you a waist of space and removing you from the equation.

Does every man get prostate cancer sometime in their life

Does every man get prostate cancer sometime in their life?
I heard every man will get it sometime, unless they die before. Is this true?

That's what my bio prof told me.
2 :
No - lots of guys get enlarged prostate which might cause problems with going to the bathroom - not sure what the prostate cancer rate is - 5 to 10 percent? I can't seem to locate a definite number.
3 :
No this is not true!
4 :
No
5 :
Some experts do in fact believe, every man will develop prostate cancer eventually, should he live long enough. But, the same can be said for many other disease/conditions. If you live long enough your likely to get congestive heart failure or renal failure, or..etc. etc. Something is bound to kill ya, right?
6 :
The current statistics are 1 in 6 will have some form or prostate cancer in their lifetime. Believe me I know as I am one of the ones and just happened to catch it by accident during a blood test.
7 :
A man has a 1 in 5 risk of developing prostate cancer by the age of 85 (if nothing else kills him first!)
8 :
It depends on what you count at cancer. I know that may sound stupid, but it's really true. "In situ" cancers are cancer cells that are not yet invasive. They are called precancer by some and Stage 0 cancer by others. For some types of cancer (colon cancer, for example) that are counted as cancer in the statistics. For other types of cancer, like cervical and prostate cancer, they are not counted as cancer. It's probably not every man, but most men will get "in situ" prostate cancer at some point. In most men, it probably never becomes invasive or moves so slowly that it never threatens their life.
9 :
Nope. Utter nonsense!
10 :
Well, I suppose if everyone lived forever then chance will sneak up on people. But it's the same for many many other things.

How does cigarette smoking increase men for prostate cancer Risk

How does cigarette smoking increase men for prostate cancer Risk?
And how can eating lycopene (tomato products) decrease their chance of risk of being diagnosed with it??
Cancer - 2 Answers

1 :
cigarette smoking increases overall cancer risk. But it seems there is a connection between toxic lung damage and male genital cancer; the first cancer ever discovered to be linked to an occupation was scrotal cancer in chimney sweeps. (this would be cancer on the outside of the testes.) But, short answer: men's prostates usually overproduce cells as they get older, and cell production out of control many times leads to cancer; also, smoking increases risk of cancer. Lycopene is an antioxidant, which helps remove harmful byproducts from your body and prevent them from being formed. The byproducts antioxidants protect against have a role in increased cancer risk.
2 :
Heavy smokers face twice the risk of developing more aggressive forms of prostate cancer than men who have never smoked...Smoking may promote prostate cancer through several mechanisms. One is that it can increase the amount of circulating androgens, which fuel the growth of normal and malignant prostate cells...Another reason is tobacco which is also cause for the prostate cancer..

I have no idea about the cancer thing but you have to enter the anus to stimulate the prostate. Something I think I'll leave alone, personally.
